Resident Music Fellow in Recital
Join us for an evening of sublime piano music in the Dining Hall of St George’s College. Acclaimed pianist Raymond Yong will present a recital of classical piano masterpieces, including Beethoven’s dramatic and arresting “Appassionata” Sonata, Chopin’s Grand Polonaise Brilliante, and Schubert’s charming Impromptu in B flat Major.
This recital forms part of Raymond’s doctoral research at the University of Western Australia where he is investigating the application of injury-preventive piano techniques to the performance of advanced piano music.
“Each time I attend a piano performance by Raymond Yong, there is a greater depth to his playing. The tonal colourings he coaxes from the instrument are a model of taste and refinement… all this critic needed to do was to lean back, listen and acknowledge artistry at a remarkable level.” – The West Australian
